What I do and why you should, too...

Oh, hey there. Let me start by saying that you're going to want to read this. I have a few things to offer y'all (I'm in Nashville, y'all is only appropriate, people). Yes, ALL of you. I'm no expert. I'm no guru. But... I have learned a thing or two about discipline and motivation in my 19 years here on planet earth (Okay fine, it's been more than 19 years...).

Let me start by saying that NO ONE is motivated all the time. It takes A LOT to get your a** out of bed and actually DO something with your day... Let alone actually putting in the effort to pursue a dream or a passion full-time, day-after-day. In 2016, after essentially doing two full-time jobs at the same time, I finally left one to pursue another. But that's not what I'm here to talk to you about. I'm here to tell you about a challenge I started 72 weeks ago: My "Song-A-Week" challenge where I write, record, and post a music video of a brand-new song every week. Yes. every. single. week. In this blog, I'm going to be sharing with you...

WHAT I DO,
WHY I DO IT, &
WHY YOU SHOULD, TOO.

WAIT!!! Before you immediately X out this window and think that this blog isn't for you, keep reading. I'm not telling you to write a song a week... (unless you think that's cool. Then, go for it, man). What I am telling you is that you can apply the same skills, habits, daily discipline, and tactics I use to do SOMETHING. Something that YOU love. Maybe it's completely unrelated to music. Maybe you are a songwriter and you want to do exactly what I'm doing, or maybe you want to be a tight rope walker and you just keep falling or have zero motivation to actually pursue it.

Either way, I'd like to offer you...

  • advice

  • guidance

  • encouragement

  • support

  • community

...for whatever your journey may be.

It is my hope that by sharing what I do, my daily habits, my successes and my failures, I will provide you with little nuggets of knowledge (just came up with that and I'm pretty impressed with my alliteration. My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Shibly would be so proud of me).

Anyway... long story short... this blog will sometimes be words and sometimes videos and sometimes picture stories (good luck interpreting those).

So, if you're not into reading, don't fret, there will be other mediums. Or maybe by reading my blog you'll be encouraged to start reading... just sayin'.

I'm here for you, to offer "daily discipline" (on a weekly basis because there's no way I can keep up with this daily). Come join me here each week and feel a thing or two (hopefully good things, motivating things that keep you coming back).

Thanks for blogging with me. :)

xo, Dina
